Keynote Speaker Announcement: Nancy Carlsson-Paige, Ed.D.

We are thrilled to announce  Nancy Carlsson-Paige as our opening keynote, presenting The Power of Play. We aren’t raising our kids they way our parents raised us, we’re short on time and overwhelmed by the media placing our kids at risk.

Nancy has written and spoken extensively about the impact of media on children’s lives and social development, and how children learn the skills for positive relationships. She is a critic of current education reforms that promote standardized tests and the privatization of schools. Nancy is the author of five books and numerous articles and op eds on media and technology, conflict resolution, peaceable classrooms, and education reform. Her most recent book is called Taking Back Childhood: A Proven Roadmap for Raising Confident, Creative, Compassionate Kids. Nancy has received many awards for her leadership and advocacy in early childhood and peace education. She is an advocate for education policies and practices that promote social justice and the well being of all children.

The Beginning…

Three years ago, two friends (Amy & Cindy) were sipping on sangria and fantasizing about their futures. Amy wanted to be a mom; Cindy felt something was missing for moms. It took us a few years for the time to be “right” but we’re all in now.

Introducing: The Mommy Conference

Join us on Saturday, June 3rd for our boutique one-of-a-kind conference for Moms of children in the early learning years (ages 1-5) for a day of education and fun with friends. [Dads are welcome too!] We’ll have a keynote speaker discussing the Power of Play for our toddler aged kiddos followed by four interactive roundtable sessions with local experts addressing topics like the care and keeping of mom, toddler nutrition, emotional well-being and technology. We’re planning for great coffee, delicious food and early summer fun.

And, we’re offering CPR training too!
